While many enjoy the atmosphere, some visitors note that the cafe's exterior could use a fresh look, as it might deter newcomers from venturing inside. A few diners mention that the interior has areas that seem tired but acknowledge the cleanliness of the space. There's a gentle reminder for new guests—while the staff is friendly, some mention there’s a tendency to upsell, which can feel a bit pushy to a few first-timers. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall experience remains positive for most.
Really nice Boss. Made me feel very welcome. Nothing wrong with the prices, it's far cheaper than most places. Nice a clean breakfast was nice.
Had breakfast today. Such friendly and efficient staff. Food good coffee hot. Service with a smile. Spotlessly clean. Thank you.
Been to this cafe a few times now, food is lovely, cooked perfect and fresh, staff are friendly, sadly the outside looks grubby which i think would put people off going in there, the inside is clean but is tired looking But worth trying as you will be pleasantly surprised!
Been going for a few years. Never a bad experience. Good food and good service. Owner is a lovely person and his regulars quite well. If you’re looking for a decent greasy spoon, I highly recommend Cafe 8.
Always been good, and it's improved. Even more items on the breakfast menu, both healthy and less so. Big portions. Lovely staff (though beware the upsell) and amazing accessibility for such a small place - staff see a wheelchair approaching and open doors and shift chairs without being asked. It even has a full accessible loo!
A nice small cafe with tasty food and pleasant prices. The best was the side salad from 9 kinds of veggies!
Went here today for breakfast, the fried bread is absolutely spot on and probably the nicest I’ve had in a long time. To be fair the Cumberland breakfast with added fried bread was faultless. Lovely hash browns too Great brekki at a great price 👍👍
